Colin Firth To Star In Mark Millar Adaptation THE SECRET SERVICE From Director Matthew Vaughn

This is certainly an unexpected casting choice. With production beginning this August, casting for the next Mark Millar comic book adaptation, The Secret Service, has begun. Oscar winner Colin Firth, who won Best Actor in 2011 for The King’s Speech, is set to star in the Matthew Vaughn-directed super spy/secret agent thriller. The story follows “a James Bond superspy who works for MI6 and takes his slacker nephew under his wing. Named ‘Uncle Jack’ in the comic, he mentors his nephew Gary in tradecraft in the hopes that Gary can change and become an MI6 agent.” Firth will be playing Uncle Jack in the film, which will be distributed by 20th Century Fox. The Secret Service is set to hit theaters November 14th, 2014. [Latino-Review]
