Tom Hiddleston May Not Play THE CROW; Alexander Skarsgard In Contention For The Role?

A couple weeks ago, it was reported that The Avengers star Tom Hiddleston was in early negotiations to play Eric Draven in Relativity’s remake of The Crow. Arguably, the Loki actor was the best choice to be connected to the role recently (Mark Wahlberg, Channing Tatum and Bradley Cooper were all up for the remake before), so the idea of his playing The Crow was a great one. However, it appears that Hiddleston only had a “simple conversation” about the film, and will likely not take on the role. But who will? There’s apparently a lot of interest in True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard (who was recently considering Warner Bros.’ Tarzan film before production was pushed back) to play Eric Draven, and while he hasn’t been offered the role yet, it’s apparently his if he wants it. Production on The Crow, which will be directed by newcomer F. Javier Gutierrez, is expected to begin this fall. [Deadline]
